Impactos sociales y económicos del turismo en la comunidad de Unión de Guadalupe, San Luis Potosí.

Abstract

El medio rural sufre marginación, desigualdades, baja producción de cultivos, entre otros. Ante esto, los habitantes han optado por utilizar sus recursos naturales y culturales como fuentes económicas para satisfacer sus necesidades básicas. Un ejemplo de ello es el turismo que se está implementando en dichas áreas y que se ha convertido en una opción alternativa de desarrollo. El turismo como actividad genera cambios en el entorno ambiental e impactos en las familias y comunidades que muchas veces son desconocidos por las políticas públicas para el desarrollo rural. Por ello, el objetivo del estudio fue analizar el impacto social y económico que ha generado la implementación del turismo en la organización social de la comunidad de Unión de Guadalupe, San Luis Potosí. A través de entrevistas semi estructuradas, observación y la aplicación de una encuesta se conocieron las percepciones de los habitantes que desarrollan el turismo en Unión de Guadalupe, San Luis Potosí. Los resultados muestran que, en cuanto al impacto social, se reconoce a la gestión como cimiento para promover, desarrollar y ampliar la oferta turística; se han creado y consolidado valores en los propios habitantes del lugar; se ha fortalecido la participación comunitaria, la igualdad de género y la colaboración de jóvenes como componentes que apoyan a las organizaciones encargadas del pueblo para abrir oportunidades de desarrollo. En el aspecto económico, se manifiesta la creación de actividades económicas locales relacionadas al turismo; generación de empleos que aumentan el ingreso monetario en las familias y mejoran los servicios básicos en la comunidad. Se concluye que, el turismo es una alternativa para las comunidades del medio rural que cuentan con atractivos naturales y culturales, costumbres, tradiciones, modos de vida y demás hábitos que las sociedades rurales practican para mejorar sus condiciones de vida y bienestar. _______________ Social and economic impacts of tourism in the community of Unión de Guadalupe, San Luís Potosí. ABSTRACT: The rural way suffers marginalization, inequalities, low production of agricultural products among others. To face this situation, residents of rural communities have chosen to use their natural and cultural resources to develop economic activities to satisfy their basic needs. An example of this is the tourism which has been implemented in those areas and it has turned into an alternative option of development. The tourism generates changes in the environment and impacts among families and communities which are many times unknown for the public policies in rural development. For what, the aim of this study was to analyze the social and economic impact that has generated the implementation of the tourism in the social organization of the community of Union de Guadalupe, San Luis Potosí. Through semi structured interviews, observation and the application of a survey was documented the perceptions of the local residents of Unión de Guadalupe, San Luis Potosí. The results shown that, related to social impact, its recognized that the management is the base to promote, develop and extend the tourism offer; this activity has created and consolidated important human values among residents; as well as community participation, gender equality and collaboration of young people as individuals that support to the community organization responsible to open opportunities of development. Among economic aspects, it manifested the starting of local economic activities related to truism; new employment that increase the monetary income in local families and the improvement of basic public services in the community. The study concludes that, the tourism is an alternative for the rural communities that possess natural and cultural attractions, customs, traditions, livelihoods and other habits that the rural families practice to improve their life conditions and well-being.
