| dc.description.abstract | La producción de litchi enfrenta problemas de estacionalidad, alternancia y baja
producción. Existen alternativas para enfrentar estos problemas como el anillado, poda
y la aplicación de productos químicos, pero para aplicarlas es necesario conocer los
procesos fisiológico relacionados con la fenología, iniciación floral, floración y caída de
frutos. Este trabajo fue realizado en Mecapalapa, Puebla y tuvo como objetivos:
identificar anatómicamente el momento en que ocurre la iniciación floral en litchi cvs.
Brewster y Mauritius, en plantas con y sin anillado, conocer el tiempo que tarda el
periodo de floración en dos cultivares , evaluar los periodos de antesis de cada tipo de
flor y su relación con la polinización, estudiar los periodos de caída de frutos y
determinar porcentaje de amarre en cada cultivar. Se trabajó con 10 árboles de 14
años de los cvs. Brewster y Mauritius y se monitorearon 2 inflorescencias por árbol
para estudiar iniciación floral, antesis y cuantificación de flores y 2 infrutescencias por
árbol para caída de frutos. La iniciación floral de ambos cultivares ocurrió entre el 1º 30
de Noviembre y se presenta primero en “Mauritius”. El anillado no influye en la iniciación
floral. El periodo de floración del cv. Mauritius es de 6 semanas, mientras que en
Brewster es de 4 semanas. La antesis de flores femeninas (tipo II) en Mauritius ocurre
del 15 al 28 de febrero y el cv. Brewster de 1º al 15 de marzo. El periodo de traslape de
Brewster es de 2 días (tipo I y II) y 7 días (tipo II y III) y de Mauritius 4 días (sólo tipo II y
III). Para mejorar la polinización es preferible intercalar dos cultivares. La mayor caída
de frutos en Mauritius ocurre el 7 de marzo y en Brewster el 21 y 29 del mismo mes.______Litchi production has problems of seasonality, alternal bearing, and low yield. There are
alternatives to face these problems, like girdling, cropping, and the application of
chemical products, but to put these into use, we have to know the physiological
processes related with the phenology, floral initiation, flowering, and fruit abscission.
This work was done in Mecapalapa, Pue. and its objectives were: to anatomically
identify the moment that floral initiation occurs in litchi, cvs. Brewster and Mauritius, in
plants with and without girdling, to know the flowering period of both cultivars, to
evaluate the anthesis periods of each type of flower and their relation with pollination, to
study the fruit abscission period, and to determine the fruit set percentage in each
cultivar. The work was done with ten fourteen-year old trees, cvs. Brewster and
Mauritius, and two inflorescences per tree were monitored to study floral initiation,
anthesis, and flower count, also monitored were the moments of fruit abscission. Floral
initiation in both cultivars was between November 1st and 30th and it was first in
Mauritius. Girdling had no influence on floral initiation. The flowering period of Mauritius
was 6 weeks and of Brewster 4 weeks. The anthesis of female flowers (type II) in
Mauritius occurs from February 15th to 28th and in Brewster from March 1st to 15th. The
overlap period of Brewster is 2 days (types I and II) and 7 days (types II and III), and of
Mauritius 4 days (only types II and III). To improve pollination, it is recommended to
intercalate two cultivars. The highest fruit abscission period in Mauritius occurs on
March 7th, and in Brewster on March 21st and 29th. | es |
